Anthony, Supply Chain Excellence Lead

I joined the business as a manufacturing graduate at the Harlesden factory in London. After completing an extensive and structured introduction to the business, I was seconded into a project role. From there I progressed through trainee Line Leader, Production Team Manager and Flexible Area Manager.

The team management roles are a great grounding in the business as they give you exposure to the operational heartbeat whilst managing a large team. The skills you learn in this environment are transferable to any future management role and have been invaluable in my career progression to date. There’s a vast range of training, coaching and development available including the opportunity to study for externally-recognised qualifications such as the Lean Sigma Green Belt.

I then moved to Manchester as a Supply Chain Excellence Lead where I have responsibility for delivering cost savings initiatives across the site and in our chocolate refinery. There is a great amount of autonomy, diversity and responsibility in the role. It’s both an exciting and dynamic place to work.

One of the great things about working for pladis is fact that it recognises the value of its employees – this creates a unique atmosphere. The global footprint of the business gives you the chance to shape your career ambitions, however great they are.
